WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
This is a special week! It’s the 50th Anniversary of Week of the Young Child! We have some very special things planned to celebrate children and families.
We start off with Music Monday! Let’s explore instruments and beautiful sounds. Children are welcome to bring in their musical instruments as we parade around our classroom creating beautiful music.
Next, come Tasty Tuesday! We will see our little chefs create delicious snacks. We will learn all about what ingredients it takes to make our favorite dishes. The children are welcome to bring in a traditional snack to share with their friends.
Then comes Work it Wednesday! The children will work together to build projects. Blue prints, tools, supplies and team work will all be needed to construct their innovated designs!
Artsy Thursday is all about creativity!!! Paints, crayons, chalk, clay, glue and lots of singing while creating our beautiful master pieces!
Finally, best for last…Fantastic Family Friday! Families create their very own Family collages to display all over the school! You and your child can be as creative as you like on a 8″ x 14″ sheet of paper. We have the paper for you just add your special touch for your family representation! We can’t wait to see them all! Please have these turned in by April 16th.
We are so excited for this fun filled week. Keep an eye out for notes from your teacher with instructions for what to bring.

Earth Day Celebrations!
We love mother nature! This week will be all about kindness, love and taking care of each other. We will discuss the importance of taking care of our Earth by Recycling, Reusing and Repurposing items to clean up our environments and properly caring for our wildlife. For our Earth Day celebration on Thursday, April 22nd, we are asking that every child brings in a potted plant to plant in our gardens. We will have a big lesson on plant life and the importance of plants. In addition, we have a little homework for each family. We would love to decorate our gardens with friendship rocks. Your homework is to go for a nature walk to find the perfect rock, take it home and decorate it anyway you want to represent your family, then bring it to school to put in our garden. Once that’s complete, we will send a picture out of what our gardens look like and all our proud little gardeners!
