A Note From Our Office
The year is off to a great start and we’re enjoying spending the winter season with you and your children. Please do not forget to pick up your child’s End of the Month Folder this evening. Please ensure you return the folder empty the next day so our teachers may begin collecting work for the month ahead. What are End of the Month Folders you may ask? The End of the Month folders are an individualized form of communication teachers share with their students and families. The information you will receive will connect you to your child’s learning for the month. There will also be a Family connection letter with activity suggestions and a link to view all of the skills and learning goals that were your child’s focus for the month. A Spanish poster is also included for you to review the Spanish words your child will be reviewing and working on for the upcoming month. These folders are such great dinner time or car time conversation pieces. Children love showcasing their best work and detailing all they have learned throughout the day. Your feedback is essential and I look forward to seeing these folders bridge the connection between school and home.
As you may have noticed, we have added several new teachers to our team here at Discovery Isle. We are so excited to welcome our new teachers and look forward to continuing to grow our school community. Thank you for choosing our preschool for your family.
There are many exciting events coming up these next few months. Please ensure you are checking your Tadpole notifications along with noticing signs posted throughout the school for upcoming events. February Events 2023
If you’ve not already done so, please send in an extra set of weather appropriate clothes for your child. We want everyone to be able to participate in the fun outdoor activities we have planned. Please also check your child’s cubby for items they may have grown out of. We ask all items fit easily into the cubby spaces and you refrain from bulky pillows and blankets. As a reminder, toys are not to be brought to school. Children may bring a stuffy /lovey to keep in their cubby for resting time.
As always, it is an honor to work with and watch your children grow. Please feel free to stop by the office if you have any questions or suggestions. Our door is always open!
Warmly,
Ms. Vanessa, Ms. Michelle, and Ms. Sofia

Safety Reminders
Our students, teachers, and families’ SAFETY is our #1 priority. We wanted to put out a few reminders to keep everyone happy, healthy, and safe.
- Door Codes to our building should only be shared with those individuals who are the primary pick-up and drop-off person for your children. Anyone else can pick them up if the school is made aware ahead of time, however, we ask that you allow us to buzz them in, check their IDs and escort them to the classroom.
- Anyone who enters our building should be using the door code to do so or should be checked in by a member of the management team. In order to keep our schools safe, anyone you do not recognize, please do not let in. If you have someone follow you in please make the management team aware.
- Our parking lots see lots of little feet each day and sometimes those little feet like to go wandering without a parent or guardian’s hand. To ensure everyone is safe, please make sure that as you enter and exit the parking lot you reduce your speed to avoid any unforeseen issues. We understand that at times you can be rushed but please help us keep everyone safe and take it slow.
- Foot safety is another item we would like to remind everyone of. While open-toe shoes can be a preference during the warmer months, closed-toe shoes provide the best protection for our children. Children love to be active on the playground and we often time see toe/foot injuries with open-toe shoes. Please help us keep everyone safe and provide your child with a pair of closed-toe shoes to play in.
- Playground pick-up procedures should include a quick touch base with our staff to ensure they are aware that you are taking your student for the day. As you enter and exit the playground, please make sure that doors are closed, and students do not follow you and or your child out.
Thank you for keeping our school’s safety reminders top of mind! |
