A Note from Our Administrators
As we kickstart the month of October, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the changing seasons and the wonderful opportunities that await our students. Fall offers the perfect backdrop for learning. Our students will explore the outdoors and feel the crisp air as they participate in memorable, seasonal activities. We have a lot of exciting things planned this month, including pumpkin decorating, our costume parade, and more. We will keep you updated via Links to Home. Please add October Events.2023to your calendar. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. We look forward to a season filled with growth, learning, and fun.
With Love,
Ms. Vanessa & Ms. Michelle

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record
This year our students here at Discovery Isle, Carlsbad will be participating in: Jumpstart’s Read for the Record it is the world’s largest shared reading experience. It celebrates early language and social-emotional development and builds an intergenerational community through reading while raising awareness about the importance of early literacy. Participation in Read for the Record provides access to inclusive literature that fosters belonging and connection through a child’s own experiences and the experiences of others. More than 26 million people have participated in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record in the past. This year, we are joining the thousands of schools, libraries, organizations, and communities celebrating early literacy and reading the story, With Lots of Love by Jenny Torres Sanchez, illustrated by Andre Ceolin. It’s a beautiful story about family, finding ways to stay connected, and sharing love across distances.
We will be sending out more information the month of October. We also will have a sign-up sheet for families to participate in this experience by joining in on some of the activities and/or volunteering to read or plan activities related to the book.
