A Note From Our Principal,
We have a variety of occasions to celebrate this month. Pre-K Graduation starts us off with our festivities on Friday, June 4th. Our parking lot will be closed down between the hours of 9:30am and 11:30am during our ceremony. Remember, one car per student for attendance, please remain in your car at all times.
Next, we will celebrate all our Discovery Isle Dad’s! Stop by in the morning as we host our Donuts for Dads treat. We want to wish them all a Happy Father’s day by feeding them donuts!
Also, camp begins mid June! Our teachers and camp counselors have been busy planning special activities to make this summer fun and memorable for our students. Please keep an eye out for communications about activities and events.
Lastly, as we open back up, it has been great having parents back into the building for drop off and pick ups. Thank you so much for being so careful and courteous to everyone. I am excited to announce that parents can now enter into the classroom (when they are empty) to retrieve items from cubbies and to pick up children from playgrounds. As always, we are here with any questions or concerns you may have. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Sincerely,
Christy Lang
Principal
Links 2 Home App
We know that summer is a busy time for our families, and want to communicate school happenings as clearly as possible to ensure that no one is left out. As a reminder, daily reports are sent via email each day, but our Links 2 Home app keeps all school communications in one place and is always accessible. The app also allows to you communicate absences to your child’s teacher, leave drop-off notes, and read teacher and administrative notes in detail. If you’re not a current app user, we encourage you to visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download the app today. You will need to login with the email address you use for Alma. Please let us know if you have issues logging into Links 2 Home!
Vacation Reminder
Please let us know in advance if you are planning on using your vacation credit to ensure that your account is not charged incorrectly. Vacation credits are one week per school year. Our school year runs from July 2021 to June 2022. Thank you!
Summer Cubby Clean-ups
Our students love spending time outdoors and we want to make sure we take ample advantage of the summer weather. Since we are heading back to normal, backpacks are no longer necessary. Your child’s cubby will return with their name on it and you can stock it according. Nap items may stay until the end of the week when you take it home to wash. If your child is in the Toddler classroom and up, please make sure they have the following items in their cubby at all times:
Labeled bottle of lotion sunscreen
Summer appropriate change of clothes
Love Our School? Review Us!
In today’s connected world, many families turn to online reviews to learn more about the reputation of schools.
