A Note From Our Principal
The year is off to a quick start and we’re enjoying spending the winter season with you and your children. If you’ve not already done so, please send in an extra set of weather appropriate clothes for your child (labeled with their first and last name). We want everyone to be able to participate in the fun outdoor activities we have planned. Please also make sure your child has a water bottle each day labeled with their first and last name. Please note, you must bring the water bottle home each night to sanitize. As always, it is an honor to work with and watch your children grow. Thank you for choosing our preschool for your family.
We want to thank and acknowledge the outstanding work of our teachers. Not only are they managing their classrooms, covering for colleagues who are unable to attend, but they are supporting classrooms throughout the building with a smile. It is important to us to keep our families informed of our routines and day-to-day learning, and I cannot thank this team enough. Truly, this team is working hard to make sure the Discovery Isle family is connected and informed. Thank you, Teachers!
We also want to thank and acknowledge the parents support and grace. I thank you all for your patience and understanding as we navigate through each day. Your support means everything! Thank you, parents! We appreciate all the partnerships, openness, and communication, and please know that our door is always open.
With gratitude,
Ms. Vanessa, Ms. Michelle, & Ms. Josie
Black History Month
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Our students will learn about local and influential African Americans. We’ll be celebrating in the classroom by reading books, making arts and crafts, learning experiences, classroom discussions and continuing our discussion on acceptance and belonging.
Class Valentine’s Day Celebrations
We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, February 14th. Children are invited to bring in valentines to share with their classmates. We ask that we limit items to special cards/notes. Please refrain from bringing candy. We will have a special Valentine’s Day snack and participate in Valentine-themed activities throughout the day. Please see your child’s classroom for sign-up sheet.
Priority Re-Enrollment
Priority re-enrollment starts February 5th! Take advantage of our registration discount and secure your child’s spot for next school year. More information will be sent via Links 2 Home.
